Embroidered Check Dress in Navy and Dark Red

Okay, look closer. That check is yarn-dyed cotton in navy and dark red, and those horses are cross-stitched right into it in thick thread, so you can feel them. Not printed. Stitched. It's the dress people will stop you about at the farmers market, and you will get to say "oh, this?"

The shape is borrowed from old handmade dresses: soft gathered sleeves, a scalloped frill, and a relaxed midi that moves when you do. Wear it with a chunky cardigan and boots now, a denim jacket when it warms up, and a proper coat over it for the holiday party where you want to be the fun one. Basically, it earns its spot.

Fit is relaxed. It's labeled in EU sizes, so a US 6 reads EU 38 on the tag. Between sizes? Go by the waist measurements in the size guide.
