The little black dress for the second half of the night. Long sleeves, a high neck, and then a slit at the collarbone that runs off to one side and changes the whole mood. The frog clasps down the front are borrowed from the traditional Chinese qipao, and the satin jacquard has just enough sheen to catch candlelight without shouting.
It's a mini with a slit in the skirt, so it moves. Sheer black tights and a pointed boot for December. Bare legs and a strappy sandal when it's warm enough to pretend. A big coat over the top either way, because the reveal is half the fun.
Fitted through the body and unlined, so it skims rather than grips. Rixo's model is 5 ft 9.5 in and wears a US 4.
